Good Dea Craft School loves to host private classes where you can gather your favorite people for crafting time.

And with a minimum class size of 3, it’s easy!

Put down those cell phones for a bit and relax in our cheerful and inviting space with a craft of your choice.

Choose your class and the price at the top will update. Enter the number of guests (Quantity) and “add to cart” to see your total. When your group decides what class they want to take together, use the contact page or call us (614-407-9313) to propose dates that you would like to have your class. We will send an invoice and book your class right away.

You can order food, bring drinks, and play music during the class.

Speaking of food: Add a cheese board for $5/person or a meat/cheese board for $10/person. It includes seasonal fruit, crackers, and nuts.

Most classes last between 2.5-3hrs. Kaleidoscope classes are 4 hours.

*Pyrography (Wood burning) classes have a maximum of 6 participants for each class.

Private classes are run just like our standard classes but you are the only participants. You can bring beverages or catering of your choosing.

If you are planning a party, consider going with a venue rental and craft stations. This gives you time before and after the event for anything you need and accommodates up to 20. Contact us for more on this option.

Well-behaved children with a guardian are welcome.

Descriptions of each class below

Stained Glass Suncatcher Small, Medium, Large:

Learn to use basic stained glass tools.

Cut, grind, use copper tape, and solder your piece in place to build a special piece of art to take home.

All tools and materials provided.

Stained Glass Kaleidoscope:

In this workshop you’ll build a 3-D body for your kaleidoscope and learn how to attach the necessary hardware to make the magic happen. 

What can you expect at this workshop?

  • Learn how to use basic stained glass tools

  • Learn how to cut, grind, and use copper tape and solder

  • 4 hours of demonstrations and practice time, everyone will leave with their own completed masterpiece!

  • One-on-one support from Kara of Good Dea Glass Co.

Copper Flowers:

Learn to design, cut, form, and texture copper sheet to create a one-of-a-kind flower.

Intro to Sewing:

Bring your sewing machine, or borrow one of ours, and get all of the basic knowledge of threading, bobbin winding, needle replacement, and tension. Get up and running on your sewing skills without the stress. Go from Zero to making your very own throw pillow in 3 hours!

Experienced sewer, Pamela, will guide you and offer 1-1 support.

Sashiko Decorative Mending:

Sashiko is the art of visible mending with decorative thread and geometric designs.

You will:

Plan a sashiko design, transfer your design onto fabric (Provided), and use that pattern to stitch a beautiful geometric work of functional art. Basics of patching, history of Sashiko, and tips and tricks to master your sashiko practice will be discussed. This is a soothing, relaxing class.

Embroidery:

Decorate your clothing or other home textiles with beautiful stitched images. Pam ODea with guide you through the process of choosing fabrics and thread, planning your design, and techniques to bring your artistic vision to life. Learn a multitude of decorative stitches including those used in visible mending on jeans and knits.

Machine Mending:

Bring your sewing machine or borrow one of ours to this sustainability-focused class.

You will learn:

How to fix torn seams

How to patch holes with machine darning

How to patch holes using a patch

How to know which is the best option in different situations

AND Tips to know when an item is salvageable (use these when you are yard-saleing or thrifting!)

Hemming and Alterations:

Alterations are adjustments to the original clothing to enhance fit and comfort. Learn to take in clothing, hem a pair of pants, and how to know when a piece you are considering is a good option for alterations. Bring your own machine or borrow one of ours!

Pyrography (wood burning):

Decorate wooden ornaments, a cutting board, or a photo frame with pyrography. Rachel is an accomplished wood burning artist who will teach you the basics of pyrography and it’s tools. Then you will be set loose, with your new skills, to inscribe a design onto your project.

Only 6 seats will be sold for pyrography classes.

Polymer Clay Jewelry:

Learn how to create beautiful, colorful and funky polymer clay jewelry.

Instructor, Rose, of RoseEmcose jewelry will guide you through the process of choosing clay, rolling, preparing, planning cuts, and finishing this unique and surprisingly lightweight jewelry. You will be amazed what you can make!

Felting:

Felting is the technique of using a needle to form loose wool into shapes. The needle is punched into a ball of felt which causes a velcro type effect, securing the wool in place. You can use this process to make a multitude of shapes and designs like pumpkins, plants, and animals. Choose to make a felt houseplant, decorate dryer balls (perfect for adding essential oils to!), or create your own unique piece of art. The possibilities are endless!

Mosaics:

Use stained glass fragments to create a beautiful scene on a wood frame. You will learn how to plan your design, break glass sheet, proper placement of glass, and finishing your piece with grout. Create a sunset, aspen forest, or anything your artistic mind desires!

Knitting - Hat Making:

Use your cast-on, knitting, and purling skills to make a colorful and warm knit beanie. This class is slightly more advanced and students should have basic cast-on and knitting skills to participate.

Self Care Gift Sets:

Learn about different essential oils and their uses, and consider trading mass-produced perfumes for healthier alternatives.

Self care is so important and this class will make your self-care routine that much better.

Learn about essential oils, the process of blending, and how to use them in different parts of your daily life to move away from chemicals and leave you and your home smelling fresh and feeling healthy.

Paper marbling:

Learn the art of marbling and make 5-6 pieces of large marbled paper to use for gift wrap, cards, invitations, or art. This class involves using specialty paper and ink to create designs on the surface of water then floating the paper on the water to transfer the design. A soothing and creative class.

Acrylic Pouring-

Create a beach scene on a wood board using acrylic paint and specialty pouring mediums. Learn different techniques to mimic the beauty of cresting waves along the sand.

Macrame-

Choose your project and instructor, Pam, will guide you through the process of building a small, medium, or large macrame project. Choose from Plant hangers to wall hangings, macrawoven sunset scenes, and more. If you have inspiration, pinterest boards etc, send them to us and Pam can create a project for you!

Leather Belts/dog collars/ leashes:

Learn about how leather is tanned, types of leather and thicknesses, what leather is used in different forms, then build your own custom piece to take home. A range of widths, lengths, buckles and metals will be available that range from traditional to whimsical.

Leather Wallets:

Learn about how leather is tanned, types of leather and thicknesses, what leather is used in different forms, then build your own custom piece to take home. Learn to hand stitch leather to build a leather wallet. This is a great option for non-traditional bachelor parties.

Leather Loafers/House shoes:

Learn to make your own leather shoes in this course designed to support sustainability and help you make your shoes last a lifetime.

Leather is a strong, durable product that you can repurpose time and time again and the design of these shoes allows you to replace the sole easily!

Use high quality leather, suede liner, a soft midsole and rubber or leather outsole to build a pair of foot hugging loafers.

Shearling Booties:

Start, or continue, your leather working journey by making a wonderfully cozy pair of shearling booties. Wear these around the house to keep your feet warm all year long. The rubber outsole and soft midsole make these booties durable and comfy.

Jewelry Date Night:

One ticket = two people + each make their own necklace

Take your metal working up a level!

Practice sawing on copper sheet, learn what blades to use, and gain skills to make your own shaped pieces from sheet metal.

Then, draw and cut a copper heart that you will solder to a sterling silver hoop and string on to a silver chain.

(Optional: instead of the heart, wrap and solder copper wire around a silver loop.)

This is a beginner friendly class that includes saws, hammers, and torches.
