Frequently Asked Questions

SPECIAL NOTICE FOR BIG GROUPS:

We have had requests for classes for groups larger than 12. If you have a larger group, and space to accommodate them (whether it be an event space or your garage with some folding tables), send us an email via our contact page and we will contact you to coordinate your custom class.

What do I wear?

Please wear comfortable clothing that covers your legs at least to the knee. Close-toed shoes are recommended. There are seats at our workbenches but you may be required to stand for periods during class. We recommend tying back long hair to keep it away from flames or liquids. You will be working with multiple tools and materials that could catch or stain your clothing, so your favorite tshirt or dress may want to stay somewhere safe until after the class. If you are attending a “date night” event, you are welcome to change in our restroom. There is only one restroom so please be aware of the time you need to change.

What tools do we use?

You will use many tools associated with the craft that you are learning. Glass cutters, pliers, hammers, torches, copper foil, copper sheet, silver, and punches will be used depending on the class.

Can I bring food?

We ask that everyone eat prior to the class. Snacks and drinks are provided during class but we cannot ensure that it will meet everyone’s dietary needs.

Can I bring alcohol?

The only time alcohol will be permitted in our location is during private events.

What safety measures do you follow?

Good Dea Craft School takes your safety very seriously and wants to ensure that you have all of the PPE to make your class fun and safe. We ask all students to wear safety goggles, gloves, and any other protective equipment necessary for the operation and use of equipment and solvents.

Do you have art for kids?

We do! We have summer art programs and look forward to building on to our youth art curriculum.

Do you offer classes during the day or weekend?

We offer sporadic classes on weekends and private classes during the day, at this time. We look forward to building our calendar and instructor list to bring you a wide range of classes at different times of day. Want to speed that process up? Send us a message. The more feedback and requests we get, the harder we will push to make things happen for you.

What if I want to rent space or use tools on my own?

Great question. We have PROCRAFTINATORS meetups, once a month, on Sundays where you can bring your projects and work on them around like-minded makers. See more here!

What classes do you suggest for someone on the spectrum?

All of them. But really, art is fabulous for people on the Autism spectrum and the answer to which class to choose is whichever one they are most interested in. We have classes that are more calm, that use fire, that require you to make noise and break things, or are open and free-flowing. If you want more guidance with choosing a class, send us a message on our contact page. We respond quickly and love to help.

Do you offer workshops?

Yes. We offer multi-day workshops that the instructors create to build your skills and finish larger projects than cannot be done in our standard class length. We have stained glass and sewing workshops being created. Sign up for our newsletter to be notified when sign ups begin.

Can you customize a class for me?

We would love to. We have created many private and group lessons around individual requests. Whether it be a specific type or style of jewelry you want to make or a themed stained glass piece, we can work with you to design a class you will love.

Can I rent your space without a class?

Do you love the warmth and color in our space? The massive chandelier and cozy atmosphere? So do we! While we love to teach, we designed our space to be flexible. Which means, yes, you can rent the space without a class. Prices start at $300 for 4 hours. Please use the contact form to inquire.

Refund Policy

Good Dea Craft School and their instructors work hard to create classes that are exciting, fulfilling, and full of knowledge for our customers. All materials for classes must be purchased well ahead of time. Considering this, cancellations within two weeks of a scheduled class or events are non-refundable. In the case of sold-out classes, there is a possibility that the cancelled seat can be filled. If this occurs, it is at the sole discretion of the instructor and Good Dea Craft School to offer credit toward a future class or a refund. We do our best to reduce cost to our independent artist instructors and appreciate your understanding.
